NH Depass (b. 1990, New Orleans, LA) has spent the last number of years producing a diverse body of work, both independently and as a collective. Currently living in New York, he is working with an emphasis on playful deception, constructing objects to give the illusion of mass production or public marketing –– at times blurring reality and fiction. He is primarily concerned with the physical production of objects, and developing the techniques necessary to create them. As a sculptor, he combines graphic and object-centered elements, often with high-spirited figures in the form of exhibitions. These parts and pieces coalesce to form narrative based exhibitions or series of works, geared towards installation and storytelling. His current body of work, Form Destroyer, centers around a series of non-figurative, symbolic portraits.
